Dr. Dubey’s scholarship focuses on educational policy, with particular emphasis on teacher career choice and teacher quality, reading literacy, technology in education—including artificial intelligence (AI)—immigration and education, and comparative and international education.
His research examines how educational policies can improve student learning by creating more effective and equitable learning environments. Using large-scale datasets, Dr. Dubey investigates the underlying factors that influence student achievement, including teacher quality, instructional practices, classroom learning environments, and the integration of educational technologies. His work seeks to inform evidence-based policies and practices that enhance learning outcomes for diverse student populations.
To evaluate educational policies and programs, Dr. Dubey employs advanced quantitative methodologies, including Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), mediation and moderation analyses, and R programming. His research addresses issues at the intersection of educational equity and policy, with a particular focus on improving learning experiences and learning outcomes for diverse learners, including immigrant, refugee, and minority students.
Dr. Dubey has secured several externally funded grants as a Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI), supporting his research agenda to improve educational opportunities and learning outcomes for all students. He has published extensively and presented empirical research at leading national and international conferences, including the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the Association for Education Finance and Policy (AEFP), the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness (SREE), and the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA). Currently, he is engaged in multiple funded research projects and collaborative initiatives.
